Easy Breezy Apple Pie (Basket Weave or 4-Slit-Center Crust)

Pre-Bake Preparation Time:  40 minutes
Baking Time:  20 minutes
Cooling Time:  2 hours
Total Time:  3 hours

Ingredients
3 Extra Large Flour Tortillas.
Six Large Apples.
Cinnamon.
Nutmeg.
Sugar.
Lemon Juice.
Olive Oil.
Water.


Cooking Utensils
Large Pie Baking Dish.
Large Pot for Boiling Apples.
Knife. 
Cutting Board.
Foil.

Instructions
Chop up Six Large Apples.
Put Apple Pieces in Large Pot.
Add Water to Pot - Enough to Cover the Apples.
Add Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Sugar, and Lemon Juice.
Bring Water to a Boil.  Stir Apples Occasionally Boiling in Water.

 - Preheat the Oven to 400 Degrees.
 - Put one large soft tortilla shell on a sheet of foil and put it in the oven for 2 minutes.
 - Put the tortilla shell on the bottom of the pie dish.
 - Fill the inside of the pie dish with the chopped, seasoned, and drained pieces of apple.
 - Put another large soft tortilla shell on a sheet of foil and put it in the oven for 2 minutes.
 - Cut the heated shell into strips for the basket weave design on the top or put four slits in the center of the tortilla shell for the crust to vent (see pictures below).

 

Put another soft tortilla shell on a sheet of foil and heat it in the oven for two minutes.

Use the third tortilla shell to create a rope of dough for the outside of the pie to seal the top crust with the bottom crust.  

Cover the rope of dough around the pie with olive oil.  Put olive oil on the top of the pie crust.

Bake the pie at 400 Degrees for 20 minutes.

Take out of the oven and let it cool for two hours.
