"The Burning Bed" Starring Farrah Fawcett

In 1984, Farrah Fawcett starred in a movie called, "The Burning Bed".

The movie was about a battered woman who set her house on fire with her husband in it and drove away with her kids.  Throughout the movie, the battered woman is facing criminal charges for the alleged murder of her husband as she explains why she did it.

This movie shows how the entire dysfunctional family system and social system surrounding her kept the rape, sexual assault, and domestic violence going against this battered woman.

Here is the movie, "The Burning Bed."

At the end of the movie, the jury found her "Not Guilty".  That being said, I remember that there was a backlash from the media even at that time which said that this movie was encouraging women to murder their husbands.

Women have Second Amendment rights to defend themselves.  A woman can defend herself from her rapist, sexual assaulting, violent husband or boyfriend.

We have to change the narrative and put the liability on men for their crimes against women and children.
